Brutal Cisa-Bar House

Last week we attended two keynote events; the first was last monday, invited by Cuvée 3000 at Casa Cisa-Bar Brutal, located in Barcelona, where we perform a vertical tasting of Els Bassots wine, single-varietal white Chenin Blanc, of the vintages of 2014 going down to the 2006.

Every wine, within its basic excellence it was a vivid example of quality complementary effects, produced by various multivariate factors in each vintage, such as amphoras, barrels, drought, etc…

A true master lesson to discover that we are tasting a living product that is the expression of the terroir in each year.

The tasting was led by Joan Ramon Escoda, owner of the Escoda Sanahuja Winery, D.O. Conca de Barberà and pioneer of biodynamic cultivation and processing.

Caudalie Cosmetics

The second event was last Wednesday and as always Sommelier Gourmet, interested in pairings with wine, attended the conference-workshop, in the Cultural Field of the English Court of Barcelona, “The benefits of wine therapy on your skin”, organized by Caudalie Cosmetics.

We congratulate Caudalie for his success in adopting as a brand, a unit of measurement of the duration of persistence in the mouth of the aromas of the wine.

We thank Caudalie for the opportunity to taste the excellent “The Heights of Smith”, a Bordeaux jewel of the Pessac-Léognan appellation of origin, with a classic blend of cabernet sauvignon-merlot-cabernet franc and petit verdot, elegantly complemented with an assortment of canapes.

Sommelier Gourmet toasts these varietals turned into wines, that in addition to its basic function of providing fantastic sensations of aroma and mouth, allow the obtaining of cosmetic products and wine therapy treatments that increase our health and the will to live.
